How many of us saw a multiplayer-centric Elden Ring in the cards? Even more odd is that it’s designed for solo and trio play, but not duo or four-man groups, which make way more sense. Thankfully, if you’re on the fence about the upcoming action RPG, Bandi Namco and FromSoftware announced an Elden Ring Nightreign network playtest beginning February 2025, with registration currently available to those on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How to Sign Up for the Elden Ring Nightreign Playtest
It wasn’t long ago that we saw an official reveal by FromSoftware at The Game Awards in early December, showcasing the all-new Elden Ring Nightreign. It’s a standalone title set within the Elden Ring franchise but more condensed and focused in its experience as a roguelike game designed with multiplayer in mind.
- Visit the official Elden Ring Nightreign web page.
- Enter your date of birth.
- Enter and verify your email for the newsletter.
- Once you sign up, verify your email through the email.
After you verify your email, you’re all set. You’re signed up for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test, which won’t begin until February 2025. For now, anyone on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can sign up on January 10 for the playtest. However, keep in mind that entry to the network test is random. You may or may not receive an invitation; if you do, remember that it’s meant to test features and network compatibility.

What’s Included in the Elden Ring Playtest?
As this is primarily a network test to assess multiplayer components and compatibility, don’t expect a ton of in-game content to sift through. While it’s unclear precisely how much is available to players, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have said they want to test “various technical verifications of online systems” during this playtest process. They’ll most likely invite way too many players to assess server load.
