Getting around The Zone in STALKER 2 can be a pain in the ass. It’s an enormous map that’s pitted with danger, and safe zones are few and far between. It’s not always easy walking several kilometres with a full backpack, as the game’s stamina mechanics will slow you down dramatically.
With that being said, I’m going to teach you how to fast travel in STALKER 2. This mechanic will help you get around the map faster – but it will cost you.
Fast Travelling in STALKER 2 Isn’t Obvious
You’d be excused for not knowing how to fast travel in STALKER 2, especially if this is your first STALKER game.
The Zone is a massive open world with countless points of interest to uncover, but you’ll learn very early on that you can’t fast travel between them – with an exception.
To fast travel in STALKER 2, you’ll need to find at least two hubs (Zalissya and the Slag Heap, usually), and use the ‘Guides’ that reside within them to travel between safe zones. For instance, let’s say you approach the Guide in the Slag Heap (pictured) after you’ve unlocked Zalissya. He’ll offer to fast travel you back to Zalissya for 1,500 Coupons.
The more safe hubs you uncover, the broader your network will be for fast travelling in STALKER 2 – it’s that simple.
It’s important to stress that Guides can only take you between safe zones, and you can’t use them to fast travel to random objectives or points of interest in The Zone. It might suck, but it’s part of what makes this game so immersive – you’re forced to walk everywhere, just like you would in a real post-apocalyptic scenario.
This is an enormous open-world environment – you’ll be taking advantage of this feature on plenty of occasions.
