Black Ops 6’s Omnidirectional Movement lets you dive, which makes you hard to hit. Diving has many other benefits, but you must know how to execute the perfect aerial maneuver to make your best dolphin impression in CoD.
Omnidirectional Movement has made Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 one of the most unique iterations in history. Players are constantly pleading for innovation, and diving nails this because it’s never been seen before. Part of Omnidirectional Movement is diving, and it’s saved my life more times than I care to count. You’re lying if you’ve never panicked and haphazardly spammed the crouch button to dodge, duck, dip, dive, or dodge.
Black Ops 6 goes one better and allows you to dive in style. Our quick explainer should have you scoring perfect 10s in no time.
How to Dive in Black Ops 6—Explained
Sprint with your player and hold down the crouch button (mid-sprint) to trigger the dive animation in Black Ops 6.
Check out this mini-walkthrough to complete the move with consistency:
- Load into a game of Black Ops 6.
- Click L3 on PlayStation, LS on Xbox, or hold Shift on PC to initiate a sprint.
- Alternatively, turn Tactical Sprint on to sprint the second you move.
- Hold Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox, or CTRL/C on PC—don’t tap it, hold it down!
- Your Operator should jump into the air and land on the floor pointing the gun in the direction you’re looking.
You can dive in eight directions, thanks to Omnidirectional Movement. Think of movement like a compass: You can dive North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, or Northwest.
Why Should You Dive in Black Ops 6?
Diving is a multi-functional skill that allows you to reposition yourself, evade the sightlines of enemies, dodge incoming Scorestreaks, and reach objectives faster.
Evasion and Repositioning
A quick airborne leap is a good way to dodge enemy gunfire. I don’t know if you know, but being shot at is part and parcel of the CoD affair. Diving into cover, behind walls, or even over obstacles is a perfect way to reposition and re-engage.
I find if I have the Vigilance Perk equipped and get spotted, diving is a top remedy to spare yourself a death.
Objectives
The Hardpoint is about to be captured, the bomb is seconds away from blowing up, and your teammate needs assistance with the nearest Domination flag. These are Black Ops 6 scenarios you’re bound to encounter. Inches and milliseconds can be the difference in Call of Duty, and a well-timed dive can end up being a match-winning play.
Scorestreaks
How many times have you puffed out your cheeks watching an Archangel Missile head your way? Or sighed knowing a Hellstorm missile is closing in on you? A dive can get you to last-minute safety and deny your opponent an easy Scorestreak elimination.
Diving in Black Ops 6 is fun, above all else. It’s a game-changer, and I can’t imagine it not being in CoD titles moving forward. Do you agree? Do you think it needs to be reworked? Or should it be omitted moving forward as it creates a skill gap?
