How to Deal With Cultists in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Your first encounter with the cultists in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a surreal experience. You step out of the hallway leading to the warehouse and into Paradise Plaza to discover a local cult attempting to sacrifice a young woman by the name of Jennifer Gorman. Instead of racing to help, Frank whips out his camera. Of course, Frank gets his act together to help, but you must first fight the entire group of cultists. Here’s how to handle the growing cult presence in Willamette Mall!

How to Beat Cultists in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

As mentioned, your first encounter with the cultists involves saving another survivor, and it’s not an overly complicated fight. For whatever reason, this group of cultists mostly hangs around in a tight cluster. Once you come close, most will pull out knives to defend themselves, but if you have a quick melee weapon, you can deal with the whole group in seconds.

That said, be wary of those with dynamite. A few of the cultists pull out a stick of dynamite and toss it at your feet, which deals damage and sends Frank soaring through the air, stunning you momentarily. It’s an absolute pain, so dodge and roll away when you hear or see the dynamite land at your feet!

If you have a firearm, it’s best to shoot from a distance to deal with the dynamite-throwing cultists before moving in to handle the rest with melee.

Occasionally, cultists will charge you with dynamite, blowing themselves up along with you. Other cultists will charge you and grab hold of Frank, holding him in place so that the others can attack. When you see a cultist raise their arms above their heads, run back or roll away. Take them out quickly!

Unfortunately, that’s not the end of the cult in Willamette Mall. They’ll return in force, and if you’re caught unaware, the cult members can knock you unconscious and stuff you inside the same box as Jennifer. You’ll then wake up in their hideout, a small building known as the Moveland Annex in the top-right corner of Leisure Park by Colby’s Movieland.

Inside the Movieland Annex, you must defeat the cultists to unlock the door. It’s a close-quarters fight, but you’ll have melee weapons available to deal with the problem.
