STALKER 2’s open-world environment is riddled with ‘anomalies’, dangerous elemental entities that can ruin your day if you’re not careful. From balls of violent electricity to bubbles of fractured gravity, anomalies in STALKER 2 pop up everywhere and must be dealt with to get past some objectives.
In this guide, I’m going to show you how to deal with anomalies in STALKER 2.
An Anomalous World
Unfortunately, not all anomalies can be overcome in STALKER 2. Some, like the gravitational shift at The Bulba in the Lesser Zone, are so powerful that they simply must be avoided rather than defeated.
For the most part, anomalies are more of an irritation than they are a danger, and they can be taken care of quite easily.
If you want to learn how to deal with anomalies in STALKER 2, you’re in the right place.
Let’s say you’ve found a bubble of broken gravity hanging in the air and it’s blocking you from reaching your objective – what do you do? If you walk into it, it could kill you, and at the very least, it’ll harm you and give you a sudden shock.
To eliminate that anomaly and get around it, you’ll need to equip your ‘bolts’ (‘6’ on PC) and throw one into the anomaly to temporarily dispel it. Be cautious, though – most anomalies only disappear for a second or two once they’ve been triggered, so you’ll need to move fast.
This trick works for everything from fire spouts to poison clouds.
It’s best to avoid some anomalies entirely, like the massive, floating bubbles you see littered around the world. Some of them will instantly kill you on contact, bolts or not. This is also true for the floating clouds of electricity you see in certain places – these anomalies will follow a path that can be predicted but they deal massive damage if you’re not careful.
In the worst-case scenario, you can just dart past or jump over an anomaly, taking a little damage but circumventing the full damage potential of that anomaly.
