Going into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, its playtime was one question asked often. Recent AAA games like Tears of the Kingdom have set the bar high for how long narratives alone can be. However, in Insomniac’s case, Creative Director Brian Intihar cleared up beforehand that Spider-Man 2’s length would be comparable to the first game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is brimming with hours of amazing cutscenes, gripping side activities, and tons of good ol’ Photo Ops for you to burn through. It’s safe to say, it’s fairly long, even if the playtime might be very shy of what massive role-playing games provide. That said, completion length widely varies depending on the player, though if you’re curious about how long Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is, here are the average playtimes recorded based on dozens of reviews.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Main Story Length
It takes on average 15-20 hours to beat Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This includes watching all cutscenes and progressing through the main story at a leisurely pace.
By skipping cutscenes – hopefully, something you don’t plan on doing in your first playthrough – you can considerably drag that number down. In total, there are 31 story missions that you need to do. And even if you find yourself lost in The City That Never Sleeps, the 20-hour mark is a good placeholder.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Platinum Run Length
A completionist run in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will take you 27-35 hours to nail down. Doing a completionist playthrough entails that you gather all 160 collectibles, complete all 52 side missions, and unlock all suits for Miles and Peter in-game.
Finishing Marko’s Memories, Photo Ops, and the Mysteriums will take up most of your time. Not to mention the 68 spectacular Spider-Men suits that need crafting. All of these add another ten hours to your playthrough on top of the twenty from the main story. In other terms, if you’re planning on getting your hands on the Platinum trophy in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the 30-hour mark is what you should prepare for.
A pro tip would be to focus on doing side activities after beating the main story. By the time you finish the fun stuff, you will have over 90% of the achievements unlocked. Making that Platinum trophy all that easier to get.
