A new announcement has revealed that Helldivers 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog later today.
Arrowhead Game Studios released its breakthrough third-person shooter in 2024, and the game has continued to thrive since then. With multiple major content updates over the years, it has successfully retained its player base. Now, the player base is set to grow even stronger as the game will be available on PlayStation Plus.
Helldivers 2 Available on PlayStation Plus Later Today
Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that Helldivers 2 will be available through PlayStation Plus later today. Players who subscribe to either PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium can download the game. Additionally, PlayStation players have the opportunity to earn a special reward by completing a collective challenge. If players eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18, they will unlock four Helldivers-themed PlayStation avatars.
Helldivers 2 Devoid of Liberty Update Details
With the launch on PS Plus, players will also gain access to the Devoid of Liberty update for Helldivers 2. This update introduces new missions where players will be tasked with conquering and destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, completing data reconnaissance, and infiltrating Illuminate structures alongside their teams. Additionally, there are secondary missions that involve eradicating Void mutations, extracting materials for research, and opening a secondary extraction zone to expedite the extraction process.
The Devoid of Liberty update for Helldivers 2 introduces terrifying new mutated organisms. Among them is The Wretch, a fast-moving creature that can easily overwhelm weaker fighters and dodge their counterattacks. Another addition is The Crusher, which can absorb heavy damage and deal it back just as effectively. Players can now advance through all 300 ranks of security access and privileges, gaining new rank titles along the way. Additionally, SEAF platoons will now assist in operations, arriving via dropships to fight alongside players.
