Helldivers 2 Coming to Xbox on August 26

It has been revealed by Xbox that Helldivers 2 will officially be released on Xbox Series XS on August 26th, with pre-orders starting today. Arrowhead Studios and Xbox confirmed this news today in a post on the Xbox Wire.

It has been more than a year since Helldivers 2 was released on PC and PlayStation 5, dropping to an overwhelmingly positive reception in February 2024. It has since become regarded as one of the best shooters out there, and Arrowhead has kept the community stoked with constant updates and evolutions.

See You On The Frontlines

In the post on the Xbox Wire, Helldivers 2’s game director, Mikael Eriksson, said:

We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game. We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.

The Xbox team confirmed:

‘August will be here before we know it, which means we’ve got to get you officially enlisted – we start taking pre-orders for both the Standard Edition and the Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2 today! With cross play on all platforms, get ready to add your strength to our ranks.’

It was revealed in May that Helldivers 2 is still so popular that ‘around 2.5 million players’ a week were logging in to fight for Super Earth, either alone or with friends.

Most recently, Helldivers 2 was in the news when the team at Arrowhead teased the return of the ‘Review Bomb Cape’, a cosmetic item created in recognition of a rough patch that saw Helldivers 2 slammed in the review stakes by disgruntled gamers. It came when purchase restrictions put in place by PlayStation blocked the game in regions that couldn’t access the PlayStation Network.
