A gameplay demo of Halo: Campaign Evolved has been revealed, showing some impressive visuals and intense combat.
Revealed at the Halo World Championships, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the 2001 classic Halo: Combat Evolved. Only campaign, the game will tell the original story of Master Chief and Cortana beating the Covenant, now in next-gen. The game is set to release in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and, surprisingly, PlayStation 5. In celebration of the reveal, Halo Studios showed off a new 13-minute demo of the game, currently in development.
Halo: Campaign Evolved “The Silent Cartographer” Gameplay Demo Revealed
In the video, shown above, we get a 13-minute demo of Halo: Campaign Evolved, called “The Silent Cartographer”. We see a lot of gameplay, including its signature FPS combat. In the segment, we see Master Chief shooting his way through the Covenant forces. Furthermore, we do see the game done in Unreal Engine 5, a first for the franchise. Fans at the Halo World Championships get to go hands-on with the title, though no public demo was announced. While not shown, new content is being added to the game, including new story missions involving Master Chief and Major Johnson.
Given how memorable Halo: Combat Evolved is for many, the remake mostly looks like an exact copy. Of course, that isn’t a bad thing at all. The remake is the second time CE has been redone, as it got a facelift for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Xbox 360. It should be interesting to see more of what the game has to offer as we get closer to the release. While no date is available, it’s clear Halo: Campaign Evolved is going to be one to watch, and play, once it releases.
