Ghost of Tsushima Was The Best-Selling Game In The US In May 2024

Circana has released the data for the best-selling video games in the United States (US) for May 2024, and Ghost of Tsushima was at the top of the list.

The game jumped from 71st to 1st thanks to the release of the PC edition of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on May 16. Coming in at number two for the month was the new Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake for the Nintendo Switch. The rest of the top five rounded out with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Helldivers 2, and MLB: The Show 24.

Of the top 20 games for the month, three are brand new releases. In addition to Paper Mario, Homeworld 3 and F1 24 make the list after releasing in May. F1 24 just qualified by releasing on May 31.

Last month’s number 1, Stellar Blade, fell to 10 while Dragon’s Dogma 2 fell from seven to 20. The game’s to make April’s best-selling list but fall out in May include Grounded, Princess Peach: Showtime, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Tekken 8.

As far as year-to-date sales are concerned, Helldivers 2 remains at the top of the list followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The rest of the top 5 include Dragon’s Dogma 2, MLB: The Show 24, and Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.
