THE INSIDER SAYS: “It’s an immersive Papers, Please if you were living through World War Z! THAT is what we thought as we started checking out Quarantine Zone: The Last Checkpoint. Really, this has the potential to make for some seriously twisted runs as you attempt to keep order at a single checkpoint as zombies overrun the globe. Screen survivors, look for signs, and you decide who gets safe passage. Not exactly a low-stress gig. Kinda like working in customer service x 1,000,000. Sounds like fun! Welcome to the apocalypse.“
In all these zombie movies, shows, books, comics a lot of the focus is on running from (or shooting) hordes, but there’s this creepy moment. This tense “before the real end starts” as people try to shelter and protect themselves behind walls. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, is that moment. And you’re the person at the checkpoint, making all the hard calls.
But it’s more than just some thumbs up, thumbs down selection process. You need to be the one to look for the clues and bite marks. Do they have a cold? Are they showing signs of turning? Sounds grim, but you can still harvest parts and learn what you can (gain XP) about the zombie plague just outside.
You also need to hold the line, secure defenses, and make sure that the checkpoint continues to run as intended. Food, power, medicine – that’s all on you. As the base expands, you’ll have more tools and weapon upgrades to hold the line. In a way, it shows how a combination of little decisions can lead to civilization’s downfall. So, no pressure
