Everyone loves Fortnite skins, but what does the wide world of gaming love more? Free Fortnite skins! It can be tough to get free Fortnite skins, but it’s not impossible, and in the best of circumstances, you’ll even unlock back blings, icons, and sprays without paying a penny. That’s the kind of topic we love to discuss, as nobody wants to turn down free Fortnite items, regardless of what they are.

The issue is, that you might need to complete some tough challenges to unlock free Fortnite skins – but you’re a talented enough player… Right?

Get Your Free Fortnite Skins Here

Historically, Epic Games has been pretty generous when it comes to giving away free stuff in Fortnite. Now, we’re not saying that the team offers up free Fortnite codes on a daily basis, but through a series of challenges, limited-time events, or promotional offers, you can unlock plenty of content in Fortnite without spending any money.

For instance, as of July 2024, you can make and link a LEGO account to your Fortnite profile and unlock the Explorer Emilie Outfit for free. If you then go on to complete LEGO Fortnite quests, you’ll secure the Trailblazer Tai Outfit – also for free! You’ll rarely get free Fortnite skins – but it’s very common to see other cosmetics available without a price tag.

Here are a few of the easiest challenges you can complete to get free items in Fortnite:

Star Wars Lego Fortnite Decor Bundle(s)

For every 1,000 Studs you earn through LEGO Fortnite Star Wars Quests, you’ll unlock another Star Wars Lego Fortnite Decor Bundle – it goes up to a maximum of 10,000 Studs.

Neon Man O’War Glider

Unlock this free Fortnite Glider by earning 100 points in Reboot Rally Quests.

Metallica Concert Spray

To get this free Fortnite cosmetic, just spray Metallica concert images at three different locations – easy!

Festival Cosmetics

If you want to maximise your free Fortnite items, you’ll want to complete Festival Quests. For every 1,000 points you earn in the Fortnite Festival, you’ll get another reward, including emotes, auras, icons, and exclusive jam tracks. When you hit 11,000 points, you’ll get the Slurp Blaster Guitar.

Ranked Match Rewards

There are stacks of free Fortnite cosmetics to be earned in Ranked. For every 10 storm circles you survive, you’ll get a new item from a packed list of sprays, emotes, and loading screens. It maxes out at 150 storm circles, but there are 10 rewards to earn in total.

Prized Llama Back Bling

When you complete Survivor Quests in Fortnite, you’ll get a chance to unlock the Prized Llama Back Bling – and it could be a rare one!

Free Fortnite skins might be seriously tough to find, but there’s still plenty you can do to kit out your locker in this madly popular battle royale title. It’s the same story with earning free V-Bucks – there’s hardly any opportunity to do it, but there are some ways you can get a few without paying. That’s a conversation for another day, though.
