All players in Forza Horizon 6 will receive a free car after the removal of The Eliminator online mode due to a Credits bug, developer Playground Games announced.
The Eliminator is one of the various Horizon Play events in Forza Horizon 6, pitting players against each other in a head-to-head, last-man-standing event, but the mode was promptly disabled last week after an exploit was found.
A bizarre exploit led to some players farming millions of Credits in the mode, flooding the Auction House with expensive cars, and, while the return of the mode is yet to be confirmed, all players will receive compensation.
Forza Horizon 6 Gifting 2021 McLaren Sabre to All Players
Announced in the official Forza Support channel, all players in Forza Horizon 6 will be gifted the 2021 McLaren Sabre, which will be distributed once The Eliminator has been restored.
The free vehicle will be redeemable from the in-game Message Center, under the Gifts tab, but it’s not clear yet when the distribution and the return of The Eliminator will be.
Playground Games states the plan is to “reintroduce The Eliminator as soon as possible as part of a hotfix,” while also confirming that players who were found to be participating in the exploit won’t be handed a severe punishment, as the error was on the developer’s side.
Instead, all players found to have been participating in the exploit will have their accounts restored to a maximum of 10 million Credits, though it’s not clear exactly how this process will work.
In a Reddit thread discussing the decision, some players have reported that they have seen Credits removed from their account, despite not participating in the exploit directly.
This has resulted in speculation that anyone who has played The Eliminator prior to the removal of the mode will have their Credits reduced to the 10 million mark, though this has not been confirmed by Playground Games.
