And it's the scary COD killer they said (I don't know if that was exactly said)
Or when you compare it to Concord lolThat doesn't seem that high when you compare it to Hyenas
I don't know who said this but it was probably media. Everything is a COD or Destiny killerAnd it's the scary COD killer they said (I don't know if that was exactly said)
As much as people hate on the CoD series. Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer they all know how to make an online shooter. It makes any developer have to get to a high bar when they make one of these games.I don't know who said this but it was probably media. Everything is a COD or Destiny killer
Agreed. Same with Bungie and even Epic. Making these types of games ain't easyAs much as people hate on the CoD series. Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer they all know how to make an online shooter. It makes any developer have to get to a high bar when they make one of these games.
did u count the inflation? it would be almost above 100 million todayOof. Still a lot of money for a Multiplayer only FPS. Sure, inflation etc. but 9 years ago CDPR created The Witcher 3 with a similar budget.
Reports conflict on the exact figure. The total was estimated at $67–81 million, with $12.2–32.4 million for production and an additional $25–35 million for marketing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Witcher_3:_Wild_Hunt#cite_note-Their-2015-42
I didnt say that I just said if u counted the inflation of today's currencyI did not. Wiki says 81 Million USD with a footnote:
Edited to make it more clear.I didnt say that I just said if u counted the inflation of today's currency
$80 million on a F2P game that lives and dies on its cosmetics and battle passes is a bit concerning especially given the reports of massive drops in Player Numbers.
I think Ubisoft have to change their image bc everytime I hear ubisoft I just avoid it.Yeah, I think they were overconfident in how well this game would be received in a market that is already dominated by both premium AAA games (CoD, Battlefield, Siege) and existing F2P ones like Fortnite and Valorant. It's probably not helped by the fact Ubi launched it in a really bad window where BO6's marketing campaign was about to kick off and draw eyes away. Said it before but the ideal time to have released this game was in the first 3 months of the year when the honeymoon phase with MW III had worn off and people started getting frustrated with its MP.
They did not. Mark Rubin, the lead dev on the project explicitly said he just wanted to make a good game that people could enjoy. The CoD Killer thing was more from people who think SBMM is "killing" the franchise and XDefiant's SBMM-free gameplay is an asset. It obviously is not for anyone who does not want to spend their whole time getting stomped out by sweats. And it's the scary COD killer they said (I don't know if that was exactly said)
I do not. I think they still put out some great games, even if they also say and do some other whack stuff that makes no sense. With XDefiant, they made the same sort of mistake Sony did with Concord and tried to carve out a slot in a market where there is just no longer any room. Why give me something I already have in those other games I mentioned that have their own identities?I think Ubisoft have to change their image bc everytime I hear ubisoft I just avoid it.
True but nowadays I feel Ubisoft has lost its gem and even if they try to recover, its going to take a lot of time. Which for Ubisoft there isn't.I do not.
