Ubisoft Cancels Press Previews of Assassin’s Creed Shadows

I kind of wonder if Ghost of Yōtei would end up helping AC Shadows sales?

I would think there’s people out there with the mindset now of, hey I can’t wait for Ghost in 2025…oh well here’s a game that will scratch that itch in the meantime.
In theory it could, but players who aren't hardcore can play the same game for quite a long time, especially if they're built like Valhalla. (You'd be surprised how many people completed the likes of Valhalla or Witcher 3)

If Shadows drops in early 2025 after a delay, and Ghost drops toward the end of the year. If you're not interested in playing several games, and you want a Japanese open world game. The critically acclaimed game will win out.

I've legit had conversations with my more normie gaming friends who will avoid a game because they'll be waiting for a specific game that is more well known or critically acclaimed.

Yeah well my comment aged like milk LOL
A delay into Feb 2025 still keeps it in the fiscal year, which is important. Though they'll lose out on the Holiday season which is a biggie.

Game needs to smash out targets in the space of 2 months. I know they've already communicated that their executive committee is launching a review aimed at "improving their execution"

So layoffs are a near guarantee.

Yeah all the single bros and sis will have a great time spending the valentine's day by playig AC Shadow

Just how is this game "super disrespectful" to the Japanese?

The majority of the blowback began with a complaint to the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology by Senator Hamata Satoshi of the far right Party to Protect the People from NHK. This is the same racist right winger who accused historian Dr. Thomas Lockley of writing "fake history" in his extremely well researched book on Yasuke. There is *zero* doubt Yasuke was a samurai who served Oda Nabunaga. Satoshi doesn't like that fact.
So did you forget how he was fired for making up information? and most of his Books sources were *looks at notes* sited by HIS OWN BOOK. He even admitted to straight up MAKING UP parts of it. Should we also go into information about his using a fake username to continuously make edits on Wikipedia to try and support his book? The dude was a hack and there was no "research" if anything maybe you should do some research on the subject before talking about it?
