"Sweet Baby Inc." & the Videogame Industry DEI Dilemma.

A few years ago when I first noticed this phenomenon I was up in arms. After 2-3 weeks of listening to people like YellowFlash, Quartering, HeelVsBabyFace and the whole professional rage baiter gang I realized I really enjoyed some of the games/movies they were dancing on the "graves" of.

I don't think inclusivity is the problem. It's just talentless writers using yellow paint narratives to just tell you the moral of the story in 3 minutes or less.

The famous quote comes to mind "If I had more time, I would write a shorter letter".

The people making the games don't have the time to write meaningful stories for each checkmark they need to cross and include in their games.

The same can be said for a lot of the people who have marketed ragebait content that they start off with something to say.

It can be a perfectly valid point that is being treated as problematic by the gaming media, or people being strangely protective of a game like Concord being a failure, because the game has political messaging they like.

But once they've said their part on these topics, they're compelled to keep making rage bait, so they become like the "woke" people they hate so much, but in reverse.

Inclusivity is not a problem. It's how it's done. The Last of Us and Baldur's Gate 3 did it masterfully.

You can notice when something feels forced in a game/movie/tv show etc.

They're just like Fox News/CNN hosts. Once they support one side, they must keep saying the same thing or they will lose their audience.
