Bungie has announced that Marathon has been delayed from its September 23 release date. A new date has yet to be announced.

Not surprised at all, honestly. The alpha feedback sounded pretty rough, so delaying it to tighten the core loop and survival mechanics is probably the right call. If Bungie really leans into tension, stronger AI, and actual risk/reward, Marathon could still land well. I’d rather wait than get another half-baked extraction shooter at launch. Let’s see what they show later this fall.
