Maybe Xbox really is set up for success with xcloud in 5-10 years. That'd be an unexpected twist. It would probably be both extremely humorous and really sad at the same time.
That's really bad, I mean I understand still buying it, especially if it is worth it for you. It's extremely expensive. I live in Romania. It's more than my monthly salary. I guess I'll buy it because I'm a junkie and I want to enjoy smooth Monster Hunter Wilds, but until then, I don't see a reason to get it. The PS5 PRO + the Disk Drive + Standard edition MHW will be 1000 Euros. I hope that game will be worth the investment. I paid 600 EUROs for my PS5 base 3 years ago and I spent more than 3000 hours using it, so it was worth the it.
No. I'm a full blooded capitalist. But I also know how economics work and price inelasticity. I believe Sony has pushed beyond that point of elasticity in pricing and plan to going forward. That's where demand destruction (consumers leave the market) or demand substitution (consumers switch brands/buying behavior). And that's likely a bigger problem then you (and I think Sony) realize. They absolutely could have made different choices than they did to provide a premium product (but at a lower price point). One example, they could have kept the original internal storage and likely gotten away with $599 without a disc drive. But they wanted to make higher margins so they went 2TB storage at $699. So yes, they want to maximize profits for their shareholders. But that can occur in a way that promises short term gains while negatively impacting future sales.i dont know what you are talking about wanna be socialist
Sony's next quarterly financials will be interesting to see what they say about the PS5 Pro. We may get earlier results from NPD/circana. But I'm dying to know - did they overproduce and expect to have remaining stock or did they set a conservative production target that was missed on the sales end. That's really bad, I mean I understand still buying it, especially if it is worth it for you.
But we better show Sony the consequences or it will only get worse.
Well I guess you are right about that.its that simple but they all want everything cheap . everything got much more expensive so do consoles especially aimed at the higher end. too much get the base ps5 for 300€ if thats not cheap i dont know what it

Is that capitalist enough for you?
Come oni dont know what you are talking about wanna be socialist
You've seen a base PS5 for 300 EUR recently? That'd be shocking. But the PS6 is not coming out for less than the PS5 Pro. And ultimately that's the concern. PS5 was still a premium purchase for most people; but even earlier in this thread @Thrawn talked about how he was able to achieve it. It's what is going to happen to the next PS if Sony feels this confident in chasing higher margins with the PS5 Pro. Yes cost is up; but Sony has confidence (maybe arrogance we will see) that they can push this high and achieve higher profit margins. Yes capitalism but likely short term gain for long-term loss of consumers for your brand.its that simple but they all want everything cheap . everything got much more expensive so do consoles especially aimed at the higher end. too much get the base ps5 for 300€ if thats not cheap i dont know what it
That's a fair point, Sir!That's really bad, I mean I understand still buying it, especially if it is worth it for you.

I feel you OP... But if the specs are very good so is the price IMO justified. But maybe not for a regular PS6 though as it's the one that will sell the most. But I think if the specs is worth it for mid-gen refreshes of consoles so is it worth it as long as the specs are better than expected... But the price still gotta make sense though as I don't want it been overpriced for no reason though like for instance Apple products. So I don't mind it personally as long as it makes sense.Almost 1000€ for the ps5 pro that is ridiculous!
To be honest a higher price for the pro model is completely okay but at this price point...
If enough people are buying it Sony will think they can get away with it (and they will!) than good luck hoping for a PS6 for under 600€.
Please let us show Sony that we cannot accept such excessive prices!!
