Almost 1000€ for the ps5 pro that is ridiculous!
To be honest a higher price for the pro model is completely okay but at this price point...
If enough people are buying it Sony will think they can get away with it (and they will!) than good luck hoping for a PS6 for under 600€.

Please let us show Sony that we cannot accept such excessive prices!!

I've always played on Playstation but a hard competition is needed for improvements.
And you're right. We as customers have power, we just have to be aware of it and how to use it: What we spend money on.
 
Yeah I never thought I'd see scalper prices as MSRP, but here we are. Hopefully it underperforms and Sony learns that consumers won't put up with their shit. I just wonder how much of this is courtesy of the new Co-CEO's. It seems like there's just been an avalanche of bullshit coming since Jim Ryan left. Not that Jim Ryan is a saint or Sony didn't have their moments during his tenure, but since these new CEO's came around it's just bad decision after bad decision..

Maybe we succeed and they learn from it.
Because money is the only thing that matters for them.

The only good news is that next gen is likely to be 100% cross gen. You won’t need to upgrade … that’s how I’m trying to cope anyway :) Paying for college hit like a hammer!
 
It's extremely expensive. I live in Romania. It's more than my monthly salary. I guess I'll buy it because I'm a junkie and I want to enjoy smooth Monster Hunter Wilds, but until then, I don't see a reason to get it. The PS5 PRO + the Disk Drive + Standard edition MHW will be 1000 Euros. I hope that game will be worth the investment. I paid 600 EUROs for my PS5 base 3 years ago and I spent more than 3000 hours using it, so it was worth the it.
 
if its to expensive for you simply dont buy it or be happy with thze base console . its that simple in a capitalistic world.

This is a dangerous attitude for Sony to adopt going forward. Console gaming is not as economically resilient as the mobile market is for Apple.

But hey, who cares about the “poor” am I right? Get a second job!
 
its not because if its too expenisve nobody will buy it and they will have to lower the price its that simple.i dont know how people dont get these basic stuff which should be common sense

Base Ps6 i expoect at 599€ the base console have to be good value. a Pro is for niche market for enthusists if fast enough they could do 3 pro models for up to 1500 bucks and some will also buy that too. its just ps5 games prettier than on base nothing more.

Yep, consoles are the cheapest entry into "real" gaming. They're supposed to be affordable to as many people as possible!

Honestly, I'm more interested in the new Switch console at this point since both xbox and PS releases games on PC now. I don't feel the need to buy any of those consoles as I have a decent enough PC, and I can wait a few years to play the game.

then how is it too expensive? the first thing you learn about business is a thing cost as much as the customer is willing to pay . thats the only thing that matters. Thats why nvidia can ysell you a mini chip for 999€ while it costs them not even 300 in production.
