How long before they make a Steam deck with new specs?

Not yet. I’m probably waiting until 2026 to see what comes around with AMD Medusa (Zen 6 + RDNA 5), Intel Panther Lake, or even the rumored Nvidia Blackwell ARM-based handhelds. Hopefully, by then we’ll have something powerful enough to handle AAA gaming on the go without the compromises of current devices. I’ll also be looking at user experiences and https://cps.pissedconsumer.com/review.html before deciding on any extended coverage for an expensive handheld.

Honestly hopefully 2nd gen Steamdeck will be out in 2026 using a AMD Medusa based SoC. Zen 6 + RDNA 5 + LPPDR6 hopefully still on a 1280x800 OLED @ 120Hz would give crazy results.

I have a Steam Deck as well, and I completely get what you mean. The SteamOS experience is a big reason I keep coming back to it. Windows works, but on a handheld it can feel clunky, especially with all the background processes and extra stuff you have to deal with. The Legion GO is impressive hardware-wise, but I prefer how straightforward the Deck feels. For me, a handheld should be something I can pick up, launch a game, and start playing without having to mess around with Windows.
