I’ve been thinking about how much use people actually get out of the TV/streaming apps on their consoles. I mostly use my console for gaming, but I do occasionally switch over to a TV app when I want to watch something without changing inputs or picking up another device.
I’ve also come across apps like Inat Box / Inat TV, which seem to be aimed more at live TV, sports, and general streaming on Android-based devices. I noticed inattvproapkindir mentioned in connection with Inat TV, although I’m not sure how reliable or worthwhile these third-party apps are compared with the more established options.
For those of you who use your console for both gaming and watching TV, do you actually prefer using the apps on the console, or do you usually use a smart TV, streaming stick, or another device?
And are there any TV apps you think are particularly good—or frustrating—on consoles? Also curious if anyone has tried Inat Box or similar apps and what their experience has been.
