Fortnite x Coachella 2024 Collaboration Announced For April

In a new official blog post, the Fortnite team revealed that a crossover with Coachella 2024 is returning to the game this year.

Fortnite Festival’s Jam Stage will get a new Coachella theme, including Le Grande Wheel and the Spectra Tower.

Horizon and Cosma Outfits will be available starting April 11th, at 8 PM eastern. Surprisingly, these cosmetics are “reactive to music,” and they’ll also get non-reactive LEGO counterparts.

There’ll also be Interstellar Butterfly Back Bling, the Coachella Pulse Pickaxe, and the Soft Synth Wrap. New instruments will include the Mirage Glimmer Guitar and Festival Keys Keytar. These will all be available through April 20th.

The actual, live Coachella event will run from April 12th through April 21st. Two of the performers there, Doja Cat and Sabrina Carpenter, are also getting their own themed emotes in Fortnite.

Respectively, they’ll get the Rebellious Emote and Sonic Surfer Emote, with obligatory but fun nods to the artists.

But a particular highlight from today’s blog is the new Jam Tracks reveal. A new wave of tracks for the Festival Main Stage’s featured rotation will coincide with artists from Coachella 2024. That includes Doja Cat’s Paint The Town Red. 90’s fans will appreciate Blur’s Song 2 and Sublime’s What I Got.

Fortnite is smartly taking advantage of its recent expansion. It’s also properly involving the community. The game devs will allow content creators in the SAC program to host Coachella tracks on YouTube for monetization.

Although the Coachella event does feature quite a few cosmetics, it appropriately focuses on celebrating music. It should be a nice change of pace compared to typical IP crossovers. Most recently, other Fortnite rumors also hinted at a Mandalorian crossover.
