Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 has finally launched, having previously been delayed for two weeks, and the Rivalry Screen is a new feature this season.
Epic Games has provided a slew of new updates as part of the seasonal transition, alongside the standard map changes and release of a new Battle Pass, and the Rivalry Screen is one of the most eye-catching.
If you want all the details on the Fortnite Rivalry Screen, Insider Gaming has you covered.
What is The Rivalry Screen in Fortnite?

The Rivalry Screen in Fortnite is new to Chapter 7 Season 2 and provides players with a particular target to hunt down in a match.
In the Rivalry Screen, you can select a player in the match as a Rival. Additionally, in the first few days of the season, players will automatically have a Rival selected soon after the match begins.

Eliminations and damage are tracked across matches to determine your rivals, and Rivalry Screens prioritize players you have the most recent history with. Additionally, a Rematch button will be added later in the season, allowing you to search for a new match with other players who have selected the same option.
The more you use the Rivalry Screen, the more often you will appear as a Rival for another player. If you skip the screens in consecutive matches, you will be targeted less often.
How to Get & Use Rival Credits in Chapter 7 Season 2
Rival Credits are earned by eliminating your Rival in matches and are spent at Rivalry Gear machines to earn a variety of rewards.
There are 20 Rivalry Ranks to progress through, with higher ranks unlocking better items at Rivalry Gear machines. Available items include infinite Slap, Exotic weapons, and once-a-day XP bundles.
Rival Credits do not reset at the end of a game, and instead persist between matches. As such, you can save up your Rival Credits to splurge in a particular game of your choosing.
How to Get a New Rival in Chapter 7 Season 2
Earning a new Rival in a Fortnite match can be done in several different ways, though there are some restrictions.
If you are rebooted in a match, the player who eliminated you automatically becomes your rival, and taking them out provides double the amount of Rival Credits.

In a case where your Rival is eliminated by another player, the eliminated player drops a Rivalry Contract. If you reach it first, the elimination will be attributed to you.
If another player picks up the Rivalry Contract before you, the rivalry will continue with that player as your new target.
