The Fortnite x Doctor Who collaboration rumors have begun to swirl again, with leakers and dataminers finding new references to the event.
Such rumors first circulated last year, with Fortnite leaker Twitter account @FNBRintel claiming that a Doctor Who collaboration was in the works. The rumor was then corroborated by fellow Fortnite Twitter account @ShiinaBR.
Back then, FNBRintel suggested that the collab was still “several months away”, but Insider Gaming theorized the event would likely come to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who, which was first aired in November 1963.
iFireMonkey, another popular Fortnite leaker posted a newly-found event named “U.N.I.T Tardis Alert”. U.N.I.T refers to the Whoniverses’ fictional military organization called the Unified Intelligence Taskforce, whereas the Tardis is Doctor Who’s time machine.
As for what the event could entail remains to be seen, but Doctor Who has faced some pretty interesting enemies over the years that would be a good fit for Fortnite. The Daleks, Cybermen, and Weeping Angels to name a few.
One of the most popular actors to play Doctor Who, David Tennant will reprise his role in the series later this year in three special episodes. In addition, Catherine Tate will also be making her return as Donna Noble.
Epic Games is yet to comment officially on a Fortnite x Doctor Who collaboration.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
