The next season of Fortnite, Chapter 4 – Season 2, will be called Mega, according to Twitter hashtags and artwork.
The new season’s name was revealed on Twitter by HYPEX, who shared the name along with an image showing graffiti-style katakana characters reading “mega”, with the hashtags #FortniteMEGA and #GoToMEGA also displaying the image.
The consistently accurate leaker has, alongside fellow leaker ShiinaBR, revealed plenty of information about the upcoming season of Epic Games’ immensely popular battle royale shooter.
According to HYPEX, Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 2 will feature a Neo-Tokyo aesthetic, with futuristic cities and Japanese-themed designs around the island map. The season will include a selection of new weapons including a katana and new mechanics like transport tubes that you can slide on while holding your weapon.
Teaser images for the new season have also been shared, matching up with the described theming.
HYPEX and ShiinaBR have previously claimed that an Attack on Titan x Fortnite crossover will arrive in Chapter 4 Season 2. That will introduce an Eren Yaeger skin to the game.
If the plethora of recent leaks is to be believed, this could shake up to be one of the most exciting seasons in Fortnite for a while. It was recently claimed that a first-person mode was also coming in Chapter 4 Season 2. According to leakers, this will be an optional toggle which can be switched on or off at the tap of a button.
