CyvOph joins Fnatic after Veqaj Benching

Fnatic Valorant has announced the signing of Clément ‘CyvOph’ Millard from rivals Team Vitality to complete their roster for VCT EMEA Stage 1.

Cyv0ph replaces Veqaj in Fnatic Valorant roster

CyvOph replaces another Frenchman, after Sylvain ‘Veqaj’ Pattyn was benched after missing Fnatic’s Stage 1 clash with GIANTX due to “health issues.”

The organization shared, “After discussions with Veqaj we have decided to move him to the inactive roster while he takes some time away from competition.”

The news left Fnatic without a piece going into their final match of the regular season against BBL, before their vital Upper-Bracket Semi-Final starts their playoff run, which will decide whether the org gets to play their home event at Valorant Masters London.

So, the roster does not have a lot of time to work out how to best use CyvOph and integrate the Frenchman in the roster. Nevertheless, the player seemed unbothered about the magnitude of the task ahead, sharing his excitement at joining Fnatic on social media.

“Hellllllo, I’m back. I’m so happy to join this club with these exceptional players, and too excited to go on stage with them. Thanks so much for this opportunity. See u tomorrow.”

How will CyvOph fit in at Fnatic?

As a flex player, CyvOph’s flexibility will need to be shown as Fnatic prepares to integrate him into the roster.

Veqaj’s time at Fnatic saw the Frenchman play a selfless role to set up Fnatic’s stars elsewhere, with Kajetan ‘kaajak’ Haremski, Austin ‘crashies’ Roberts, and Emir ‘Alfajer’ Ali Beder taking more responsibility after Timofey ‘Chronicle’ Khromov’s departure.

In that sense, his job may be made easier by the solo nature of certain spots, which will prevent a need for strong synergy on the Defending side.

BBL will be a tough test on Thursday, as the VCT EMEA Kickoff winners shocked Fnatic in their opening contest of the year, winning the split.

The matchup is an interesting test, due to the clash of Fnatic’s methodical tactics and BBL’s outright aggression.

The player will only have a short time to impress, even in the best-case scenario, with Fnatic’s future still uncertain after Veqaj’s benching.
