Five More Backyard Sports Classics Are Coming To Steam

Playground Productions has announced that five more Backyard Sports classic games are coming to Steam. The news comes on the day that the original Backyard Baseball 97 also launched on Steam.

Coming to the storefront are Backyard Soccer ‘98, Backyard Football ‘99, Backyard Basketball ‘01, Backyard Baseball ‘01 and Backyard Hockey ‘02.

Release dates haven’t been announced for the games, but that information is expected to come soon. All of the games will be single-player only with Steam achievements.

In addition to the five other games coming to Steam, it was confirmed that Backyard Baseball 97 is verified for Steam Deck.

Playground Productions first announced the return of the Backyard Sports series in August. The return is starting with re-releases and remasters of old titles. However, there is a belief that new games are on the horizon.

“We’re incredibly excited to reintroduce Backyard Sports to a new generation of players,” Playground Productions CPO Chris Waters said at the time.

“I can’t wait for fans to see what we’re building on the Playground.”
