In STALKER 2, getting your hands on a special and unique weapon is a game-changer. If you find something exclusive, it’s time to put away the rusty AK or the years-old PTM pistol and lean on something more modern. That’s where this guide comes in handy.
In this walkthrough, I’ll teach you how to find the Riemann in STALKER 2, which is one of the best and most attractive SMGs in the entire game. I’ll also help you unlock the safe that sits close to the Riemann, which is a tricky thing indeed.
Where is the Riemann in STALKER 2?
To get the Riemann SMG in STALKER 2, you’ll need to first unlock the Seek and You Shall Find quest, which you can pick up relatively early on in the game in Zalissya. This quest leads you to a series of exclusive stashes hidden by a journalist, and each stash contains a unique weapon or outfit. It’s by far the easiest way to unlock the best weapons and equipment in STALKER 2.
North of the Lesser Zone in STALKER 2 sits Rostok, one of the biggest settlements in the game. Just north of that is an unmarked location that’s home to one of the ‘Journalist Stashes’ that are scattered across The Zone:
In this location, you’ll find a barracks surrounded by (and filled with) gravitational anomalies. Fight your way through them and at the back of the room, where I’m standing in the map screenshot, you’ll find a backpack containing the Riemann SMG and a pile of ammunition.
That’s not all this location has for you, though. If you explore the barracks, you’ll find a safe with a keypad next to it. It’s accompanied by the body of a long-dead soldier with a PDA, and picking that up reveals a three-way split passcode that has been distributed between a group of soldiers.
This is the first part of the code, and the second is at the opposite end of the barracks. The third part of the safe code near Rostok is extremely hard to get, though. For that, you’ll need to head to the bunker southwest of the barracks (represented by the ? in the screenshot) and dive into the darkness.
As you head into the bunker, you’ll come face-to-face with a Burer, one of the toughest mutants in STALKER 2 to kill. Once you’ve fought him, you can head upstairs on a metal staircase and find a skeleton sitting on top of a pile of crates and pallets at the far side of the room to secure the third and final part of the passcode for the safe.
Head back to the barracks and input the code into the safe to secure an exclusive weapon blueprint and a stack of resources.
I won’t spoil the hunt by giving you the code outright, but I will give you a tip – the code is entered in order of the hierarchy of the soldiers and their ranks.
