Fallout: New Vegas Developer Obsidian is Working on an Unannounced Title

As spotted by fans via Reddit, the updated LinkedIn page for veteran art director Daniel Cabuco reveals that Obsidian is apparently working on another unannounced title.

Cabuco’s profile now lists their new position as “Art Director on unannounced title” at Obsidian, dated for July 2024. However, there were no further details about the nature of the project itself.

Developer Obsidian previously worked on titles such as Fallout: New Vegas, Pentiment, Grounded, and the Outer Worlds series. The developer is also working on Avowed, expected later this year.

Fans speculate that Obsidian’s unannounced title might be a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, since that would be a timely project.

In Microsoft’s latest financial report, CEO Satya Nadella addressed the impact of Amazon’s live-action Fallout series. Just last month, creatives on the show mentioned that season 2 appears to be ahead of schedule already.

However, many of Obsidian’s titles perform very well, so other IP could be sensible too. Pentiment still has a 7.5 user score on Metacritic, and it’s getting a physical release soon.

In June 2024, Obsidian Entertainment also offered a deep dive showcase for Avowed. Fans expect Avowed to launch on November 12, 2024.

At this time, Obsidian did not officially confirm anything about Cabuco’s role or the title they are apparently working on.
