In a short but sweet post on Twitter, Bethesda Game Studios has finally addressed the long-awaited Fallout 4 next-gen update, but it might not be the news we’re all waiting for. This update was first revealed in 2022, and since then, fans of the 2015 post-apocalyptic best-seller have been waiting patiently – but over time, that patience has been turning to irritation, as Bethesda has remained relatively silent on the topic.
Where Is That Next-Gen Update?
It’s understandable, right? Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on Starfield, and now that has been released globally, there’s space to breathe. And so, the Fallout 4 next-gen update is getting a touch more attention.
On Twitter, the following statement was written up by Bethesda:
Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update. We know you’re excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024.
That’s a sizeable window, though – 2024 isn’t too far away but it’s 12 months of uncertainty without any better idea of when it’s going to be released. Could Bethesda pull off a double-whammy and release the Fallout 4 next-gen update when the Fallout TV show is released in April on Amazon’s Prime Video service?
Perhaps.
