Dragon’s Dogma 2: Everything We Know About the Upcoming Sequel

After its release in 2012, fans of Dragon’s Dogma immediately started longing for a sequel. The popular fantasy RPG developed by Capcom became a staple within the open-world gaming community. Now, more than 10 years later, there is official information on the game’s sequel, Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Here is everything we know about Dragon’s Dogma 2, including its release date, rating and more.

When Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 Release?

If you are searching for a release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2, then you will be happily surprised that the game does have a set day for it to come out.

As of now, the current release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is March 22, 2024, which is less than two months away. Many fans are excited because the game’s sequel had only been rumoured for years. Now, with an official release date just beyond the horizon, gamers are gearing up for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma adventure.

With the game’s release being just around the corner, any sort of delay is unexpected but obviously could happen. Hopefully, the game will be released on time and fans will not have to wait any longer.

Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 be Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC?

The game is currently set to not only release on the PS5 but also on the Xbox Series X/S and PC. The original Dragon’s Dogma had only been released on the PS3 and the Xbox 360, making this the first game of the series to also simultaneously be released on PC.

With updated hardware, and a developer like Capcom behind the wheel, fans should expect a well-put-together title, with solid graphics and intense gameplay.

From the trailer alone, it is pretty apparent that the new title succeeds its predecessor in graphics, gameplay and more.

Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 be Multiplayer?

Sadly, no, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will only be a single-player adventure. Like the first game in the series, gamers will have to run around by themselves when exploring the map, storyline and more.

Still, though, with a world as huge as Dragon’s Dogma, exploring alone will never get tiresome. The original game had a plethora of land to survey and many different monsters to fight.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be no different.

Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 a Direct Sequel to the Original?

While it may be called Dragon’s Dogma 2, the game is not a direct sequel to the original title that was released back in 2012. The new map, teased to be four times larger than the original, is going to be a parallel world of the first game.

Characters will be new, the dragons will be different and the entire map will be expanded to new lands that players of the original game never thought possible.

This is a great opportunity for the series to start fresh, and give fans a brand-new storyline after waiting over 10 years.

Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 Open-world?

Fan of giant open-world RPGs like Skyrim, The Witcher and more? Well, just like its predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be a completely open world. The map was originally planned to only be double the size of the first game’s map but has since then quadrupled.

This leaves fans with an ever-growing storyline, allowing for different opportunities to change how the ending plays out, similar to the original game and other titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3 and more.

Get ready for a massive adventure.

What will Dragon’s Dogma 2 be Rated?

If you were hoping for a more lighthearted adventure, then Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not the game for you. The upcoming title currently has a rating of M for Mature.

Its rating suggests violence, blood and gore, sexual themes and language throughout the game. This is not a title for just anyone and should be played at the gamer’s discretion.

Fantasy RPGs can be incredibly violent though, with sword fights, dragons scorching through villages and more. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be no different.
