Every MW3 Map Will Be a ‘Remastered MW2 Map’, It’s Claimed

It doesn’t matter whether you’re referring to it as Modern Warfare 2.5 or its own title entirely, Modern Warfare 3 is set to be an exciting enough title that the internet is already up in arms and feverishly discussing every single aspect of the game – and will be until it drops on November 10th, 2023.

Per a Call of Duty leaker on Twitter, it has been claimed that every launch map for Modern Warfare 3 (2023) will be a remastered map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). That’s a huge claim, but it’s an exciting one, as after more than a decade, many Call of Duty fans still regard most of MW2’s mapset as being the greatest of all time.

Guess Who’s Back? Back Again

It’s not the first time we’ve had remastered maps surface in the Call of Duty franchise, and it absolutely won’t be the last time. It’s a staple for the series now, with old maps making an appearance in a shiny, polished format with each new release. However, this would certainly be the first time that a Call of Duty game would release with an entire mapset that was totally unoriginal.

This claim comes from user ‘el_bobberto’ on Twitter, who is on a spree at the moment allegedly leaking countless Modern Warfare 3 details from within the project. In recent hours, they’ve made claims about the maps, the health and TTK mechanics, some of the movement and versatility functions, and more.

So, if Modern Warfare 3 includes every launch map from Modern Warfare 2, that means we could see the likes of these making a grand return (some already have, of course):

  • Afghan
  • Derail
  • Estate
  • Favela
  • Highrise
  • Invasion
  • Karachi
  • Quarry
  • Rundown
  • Rust
  • Scrapyard
  • Skidrow
  • Sub Base
  • Terminal
  • Underpass
  • Wasteland

What do you think? Is this exactly how you’d like Modern Warfare 3 to be delivered?
