Esports World Cup: Level Up Documentary Season Two Confirmed

Season Two of the documentary series ‘Esports World Cup: Level Up’ has been confirmed.

The third iteration of the Esports World Cup is set to begin on July 6, 2026, with a $75m combined prize pool.

Meanwhile, the new five-episode docuseries looking behind the scenes at last year’s $70m event will release on June 26 on Prime Video.

The series was directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker R.J. Cutler, who also worked on the Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry documentary.

While primarily based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where last year’s event took place, the series also visits the UK, US, and Indonesia to the homes of highlighted players including Fnatic’s Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett.

Esports World Cup Level Up Season Two Storylines

The five episodes of season two of EWC Level Up will dive into the stories of some of the tournament’s biggest names and most interesting backstories.

One such player is Magnus Carlsen, considered one of the greatest Chess players ever, who won the event last year while representing Team Liquid.

As mentioned earlier, Fnatic Valorant star Boaster will also be featured in the series, starring his journey from aspiring actor to an esports great.

There will also be a look at Zeng ‘Xiao Hai’ Zhuojun, who won the first-ever Street Fighter EWC title and then looked to balance defending his title with his family life after becoming a father.

Additionally, season two of Level Up will star Team Vitality’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang pro Vivi ‘Vivian’ Indrawaty as she looked to overcome childhood trauma while competing in the only women’s tournament at the event.

The documentary will also follow the all-Mongolian roster of The Mongolz, who surprised everyone when they won the Counter-Strike 2 title at EWC last year.

Plus, there will also be an appearance from Team Falcons’ Call of Duty: Warzone star Kasimili ‘Soka’ Tongamoa, who battles against former teammates while dealing with a turbulent home life.

Once it releases, share your reactions to the documentary with us on the Insider Gaming Discord.
