Like any RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2 features a rather cumbersome weight management system that prevents you from looting positively everything in sight. Instead, it would be best to tactically consider what’s important enough to bring and take with you. But there’s hope yet! Here’s how to increase carrying capacity in Dragon’s Dogma 2!

How to Increase Your Carrying Weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To increase your carrying weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you must track down and consume Golden Trove Beetles. They’re found throughout the world, typically at random on logs, trees, and rocks, and you can scoop them up like any other crafting item in the game.

Once you have the Golden Trove Beetle in your inventory, open the menu, select ‘Items,’ and then scroll down to the Bettle. Select it, then hit ‘Use.’ Your character will consume the beetle, increasing your carrying capacity by 0.15 kg, which isn’t a lot. You’ll need quite a few to make any meaningful progress.

They seem relatively commonplace, however. In my first ten hours in Dragon’s Dogma 2, I found three wandering outside the settlements.

Where to Find Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You can find Golden Trove Beetles in Dragon’s Dogma 2 throughout the world by exploring out-of-reach places, like down dirt paths and up rocky inclines. They appear on your map as a point of interest, and when you walk toward it on the mini-map, you’ll note the brilliant golden glow of the item itself.

I found most of mine either attached to a tree trunk or sitting atop a rock by a river, so keep an eye out on locations where you wouldn’t normally expect to find loot.
