How to Deal With Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you play as a hero known as the Arisen. You’re literally the survivor of a dragon attack, with the winged beast plucking your heart from your chest. It’s ironic that an in-game mechanic known as Dragonsplague may ultimately prove to be your downfall. It’s capable of wrecking your experience.

What is Dragonplague?

As you explore the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will inevitably hear NPCs speaking in hushed tones of a rampant plague spreading across the land. They’re talking about Dragonsplague, a disease transferred by Pawns through the Rift. If you hire a Pawn with Dragonsplague, it can spread to everyone in your party.

But how do you determine who is infected with Dragonsplague? The infected Pawn won’t act or appear any different, but you’ll first notice they refuse to obey your orders. As the plague worsens, their eyes turn red before, following a cutscene, they transform into a dragon and torture the land.

It can take several in-game days before signs appear and the afflicted turns into a dragon. You have some time to resolve the problem, but I recommend avoiding sleeping or skipping time altogether for now!

How to Deal With Dragonplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You can cure Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s honestly relatively easy. When you notice a Pawn is infected with the disease, dismiss them from your party. Voila!

Unfortunately, you can’t dismiss your right-hand Pawn—the first Pawn you create at the beginning of the game. If they become infected with the disease, I recommend hiring a lot of Pawns through the Rift. The more Pawns the infected interacts with, the more likely it is to spread. If the illness spreads, the carrier becomes cured.

Unfortunately, it’s akin to passing on the problem to another player. Eventually, someone will succumb, and a dragon will burst forth.

Alternatively, kill the Pawn. It’s cold-hearted but necessary.
