The ability to interact between systems is one we often overlook as gamers, but it’s becoming more commonplace. Sadly, not every RPG offers the same suite of features across multiple systems and ecosystems. But does Dragon’s Dogma 2 have crossplay? Let’s dive in and find out!
Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 Offer Crossplay Support?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single-player RPG with no multiplayer features besides the ability to download pawns created by other players, and as such, does not offer crossplay support.
While the game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, there is no crossplay or cross-platform. This means that if you want a pawn and you play on Xbox, you can only download a character from another Xbox player. The same goes for playing on PC and PlayStation 5.
Like many, I think the pawn system is the perfect segue into a multiplayer party-based RPG, but Capcom didn’t think similarly.

How Do Pawns Work in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
You cannot play Dragon’s Dogma 2 cooperatively but can hire pawns to join you on adventures. These pawns, fully controlled by intuitive AI, will accompany you, fight alongside you, and even discuss the game’s lore and their backstories through worldly interactions and dialogue.
You can download pawns from other players or find some in the world itself to interact with and hire. It’s up to you. They’ll all have unique stats, abilities, and backstories to explore.
It’s a unique system that allows for plenty of customization in approaching each objective and area, but many would rather play with their friend or partner.
