Do We Know the Avowed Release Date? – Answered

I was hoping to see a handful of announcements during the Xbox Games Showcase, and one of those was the Avowed release date. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. But there’s still good news for fans of the upcoming RPG. So, without further ado, do we know the Avowed release date?

When is Avowed Coming Out?

Believe it or not, we do know the Avowed release date. The upcoming RPG launches on PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 12, 2024, with a day-one release on Game Pass. However, the studio quickly scrubbed the leak, so the date may change in the coming months.

However, we didn’t glean this information from the recent story trailer, which was awesome in its own right. Apparently, the studio didn’t mean to announce the game’s release date, but it was leaked following the show. Of course, we did report on the leak!

I have to say, with a release date in mind and the overall improved gameplay we saw during the Xbox Games Showcase trailer, I’m even more excited for Obsidian Entertainment’s next game. It looks phenomenal, and I don’t know about you, but I could use a new story-driven RPG in my life while we wait for The Elder Scrolls VI!

What Do We Know About the Avowed Gameplay?

We’ve seen quite a bit of the Avowed gameplay to date. The first instance, last year, truly did not impress anyone. The combat looked clunky and awkward, and it gave many fans pause. But this year, Obsidian Entertainment came with the fire during the Xbox Games Showcase. They’ve revamped the gameplay, and it shows!

In Avowed, you’ll take up arms and fight fantasy creatures your way. Like a traditional fighter, you can wield a sword and shield, mix and match dual swords, utilize spells and firearms to ensure you remain a safe distance from enemies, and so much more. Then, of course, companions help you in a pinch.

All the while, you’ll find yourself exploring fantastical landscapes full of mystery and wonder. It’s an alien world that begs for an adventurer!
