Early development gameplay from 2022 of the Crazy Taxi reboot has been leaked online showcasing its multiplayer elements.
The new leaked footage comes courtesy of X (formerly Twitter) user @ryanfrombronx, who uploaded the 33-second clip to his profile. According to Ryan, the footage is early development footage that was captured in 2022. You can see the gameplay below:
Ryan continues to say in the thread that the game is coming to “all modern platforms and the successor to the current Nintendo Switch in 2027”. This means that the Crazy Taxi reboot will be coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Earlier this year, SEGA confirmed that Crazy Taxi will be an open-world multiplayer game. The development team had difficulty pivoting from a single-player experience to a live-service multiplayer model, but the game is now progressing very well. Previously, Midori, who was an account created by Ryan, has claimed that the Crazy Taxi reboot is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
SEGA announced in December 2023 that it was developing five new games: Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi. Insider Gaming understands that more classic games are being developed and revived.
