Conor McGregor Forms Esports Partnership with Aurora Gaming

It has just been announced that Conor McGregor, the prolific UFC veteran, has inked a partnership with Aurora Gaming, an esports organization headquartered in Serbia. The alignment comes ahead of McGregor’s long-awaited return to the UFC, as on July 11, he’ll take on Max Holloway in the octagon.

In a press release, the team at Aurora revealed: ‘This partnership is an opportunity to bring together esports, professional combat sports, and global entertainment content.’

McGregor Forms Alliance with Aurora

This isn’t Conor McGregor’s first brush with the gaming space. He has been outspoken before about having a ‘Call of Duty addiction’ when he was younger, and he would later land a role in that very series. In Infinite Warfare, McGregor appeared in a small role alongside several other big names in one of the franchise’s most star-studded games.

In 2024, he was made an Elusive Target in Hitman: World of Assassination, allowing players to assassinate him. Unfortunately, his partnership was cut short.

Now, the UFC legend has formed a new partnership with Aurora Gaming, a Serbian esports organization with fingers in a lot of competitive pies. The company boasts a whopping 16 rosters across Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and many other games.

In a statement, Adalet Mamedov, the CEO of Aurora Gaming, said:

Conor McGregor is a legendary athlete who changed UFC forever. He became the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold titles in two weight classes at the same time. For Aurora Gaming, this partnership with Conor is a meeting of two competitive cultures that share the same values: a champion’s mindset and the drive to win.

While preparing for the fight on July 11, McGregor was seen sporting a jersey with Aurora Gaming branding.
