College Football 25 Had Over 5 Million Players In Its First Week

EA Sports College Football 25 has surpassed expectations with over 5 million unique players during its first week of availability.

EA made the announcement as part of its earnings call for Q1 of fiscal year 2025 on Tuesday.

“After the quarter ended, EA Sports College Football 25 welcomed 5 million unique players
into the game through its first week, with over 500,000 more playing via the EA Play trial,” EA said via release.

Because the closing of the quarter came after the game’s release, revenue generated from College Football 25 won’t be reported until Q2 FY2025 results come in a few months. As far as what to expect, however, it’s quite astounding.

As previously reported by Insider Gaming, EA was internally hoping to hit the mid-$100 million in revenue for College Football 25 to be considered a success. The expectation has been far surpassed with estimates based off information I’ve gathered from sources putting revenue at over $500 million. It’s worth noting that the estimates don’t include an exact breakdown of Deluxe Editions at $99.99 vs Standard Editions at $69.99. It also doesn’t include any specific information from College Ultimate Team.

I had texted a source about the state of sales after the first week. On July 26, the response was pretty straight forward.

“Holy ****. The franchise is set up for the future,” the source said.

Based on those first-week player numbers, it’s safe to say they’re right.
