Call of Duty’s Season 3 update is almost upon us, and Activision (and associated studios) has put together a whopper of a package. There’s a huge amount of content coming to the game in Season 3, including six new maps, four new modes, changes to Ranked Play, Rebirth Island, and much more.
Many players will be most excited to hear about the four new weapons and slew of new perks and gadgets coming to Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile in the next major update.
Read on to find out what you need to know.
COD Season 3 Weapons and Perks
Four new weapons are coming to Call of Duty in the Season 3 update, most of which have been seen before at some point in the timeline.
- FJX Horus: Ultra-compact SMG with high close-quarters damage
- MORS: ‘Railgun’ Sniper Rifle (Advanced Warfare)
- Gladiator: Small, brutal ‘punch knife’
- BAL-27: Bullpup Assault Rifle (Advanced Warfare)
For the longest time, fans have been expecting the arrival of ‘legacy weapons’ in Call of Duty, and with Season 3, some of the best ones are coming. Eight new ‘Aftermarket Parts’ are also coming to the game, which take bog-standard weapons and turn them into something much more impressive. They’ll be made available through exclusive challenges and contracts.
On the equipment front, players can expect the following in Season 3 of Call of Duty:
- Gunslinger Vest
- Modular Assault Rig
- Compression Carrier
- Reinforced Boots
- High-Gain Antenna
There is a wide range of buffs and advantages to be gained from running this equipment, and for many players, that means long-loved loadouts are about to change. I’m particularly excited for the Compression Carrier, which offers health regeneration buffs upon killing an enemy or capturing an objective and gives the user reduced effects from gas.
Midway through Season 3, players will also gain access to the bizarre-looking ‘Enhanced Vision Goggles’, which apply an electric-style overlay to your game screen, making it appear as though you’re playing from the perspective of some android, cyberpunk being – it’ll give you better ‘target highlighting’, which means it’ll make you see enemies easier.
Plenty is coming in Season 3 – what are you most excited about?
