Activision has announced that the 2026 Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship will take place in Mexico City, a location rarely visited by top-tier esports tournaments. In a post on social media, the team revealed the incoming tournament, which will start on December 4th, boasting a massive $500,000 prize pool.
It’s one of the biggest tournaments in the Call of Duty esports space, and it always attracts the eager eyes of viewers and competitors alike.
COD Mobile World Championship Heads to Mexico
In a brief post on social media, Activision revealed that the next CODM World Championship will land in Mexico City, Mexico.
The announcement was met with jubilation by fans in the comments under the post. Last year’s tournament was held in Katowice, Poland, and it was Qing Jiu Club that won the lion’s share of the whopping $850,000 prize pool. Fans have noticed, though, that the prize pool this year is $350,000 less than it was in 2025.
In recent years, the CODM World Championship has become a more diverse roving event. In 2022, it was held in Raleigh, North Carolina; then in both 2023 and 2024, it was held in Atlanta, Georgia. It left North America for the first time last year, and now it’s headed down to Mexico!
