Kepler Interactive and Microsoft have announced the release date for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. After first being announced last summer, the game will officially launch on April 24.
The news came during the Xbox Developer Direct event on Thursday.
“We’ve poured our hearts and souls in this game for the past four years,” production director Francois Meurisse said.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sees players on a mission to destroy the Paintress before she erases the last survivors of humanity.
“With only one year left to live, join Gustave, Maelle, and their fellow Expeditioners as they embark upon a desperate quest to break the Paintress’ cycle of death,” the game’s description reads. “Follow the trail of previous expeditions and discover their fate. Get to know the members of Expedition 33 as they learn to work together against impossible odds.”
When it launches, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will cost $50 and will have more than 30 hours of main game content along with hours more of side content. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.
“We are a small team with an Indie spirit, and we’re creating something we believe is truly special,” developer Sandfall Interactive said on social media last fall. “We aren’t an AAA studio, this is our first game, and we want as many people discovering our world as possible.”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be available on Xbox Series X|S and day one on Xbox Game Pass.
