A leaker has suggested that Cillian Murphy will play the leading villain in Far Cry 7, which is in development now. In a cryptic post on Twitter, j0nathan uploaded a series of images, which some users have tried to connect – and concluded that Cillian Murphy is stepping up in a major way with Far Cry 7.
Not The First
Far Cry is a series that’s no stranger to a celebrity appearance. In the most recent title, Far Cry 6, Giancarlo Esposito played the big bad guy. In 2012’s Far Cry 3, Michael Mando played Vaas, one of the most recognisable villains in the history of gaming. There’s no specific reason to highlight why Cillian Murphy, of Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders fame, would be picked to play the villain, but he was once cast as Scarecrow in a Batman movie, so there’s that.
Last year, we published an exclusive outlining story details for Far Cry 7, and one of these details was referenced in an image posted by j0nathan. This reference was a nod to a gameplay element that sees players fight against the clock to save their family from a cult-like organisation in Far Cry 7.
The conclusions being drawn around j0nathan’s post might be a reach in some ways, but he has successfully leaked other Ubisoft information in the past, so the track record is there.

Forget that! Where is Splinter Cell remake? BGAE2? Prince Of Persia remake? Rayman 4 all of those were announced first by Ubisoft.
