When Does Multiplayer Release in MW4?
Infinity Ward has confirmed that the full launch of Modern Warfare 4, including the first drop of multiplayer, takes place a midnight local time on October 23.
The staggered release, rather than a global one, means, theoretically, that players in some regions will be able to access the game before others, due to time zone differences.
Players in New Zealand, as usual, will be the first through the doors, while those in the United States will be among the last, which may put players at a disadvantage.
However, progress in DMZ counts towards your full multiplayer level, and there are also ways to ensure you’re not left behind.
How to Play MW4 Multiplayer Early
You can access Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer earlier than the scheduled time by switching your account to New Zealand, a format that has worked for XBOX players for years.
However, rather than being a system change, accessing MW4 multiplayer early requires only changing the location of your Activision account, opening the doors for players on all platforms to take advantage.
You may encounter server issues by doing so, however, as your ping will be significantly higher when connected to servers in these locations, and there’s likely to be a huge influx of players.
It’s an option if you’re desperate to dive in as soon as possible, though, allowing you an early push through the level unlocks and getting to grips with the meta.
