Black Ops 6 is Coming to Game Pass, Says New Report

The Wall Street Journal is claiming that this year’s Call of Duty title, believed to be Black Ops 6 will be coming to Game Pass.

Past rumours have suggested that Microsoft has been heavily considering the move; however, WSJ claims that the company has made a decision.

“Microsoft plans a major shakeup of its videogame sales strategy by releasing the coming installment of Call of Duty to its subscription service instead of the longtime, lucrative approach of only selling it a la carte.”

This isn’t particularly new news, though, as earlier this month Sarah Bond revealed that every first-party game owned by Microsoft will be coming to Game Pass, including Call of Duty.Microsoft finalized its $68.7 billion deal to acquire Activision Blizzard in late 2023, with the publisher now owning the IP of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, and more.

Black Ops 6 will have an in-depth deep-dive following the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9.

According to recent leaks, the pre-order bonus for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 includes a brand-new operator for Modern Warfare 3—Woods. The iconic hero from the single-player campaign of the past few Black Ops titles returns, albeit a bit older and more gruff overall. He’s certainly seen better days, obviously, with scars and wrinkles littering his face.

  • Despite them originally saying they wouldn’t do this back last year or the year before. The current Xbox leadership needs to go and better leadership needs to come in Aaron Greenberg 1000% needs to go hire someone who actually knows how to do their job.

  • If Microsoft wants numbers they should get the annual sports games to launch in Game Pass that’s the best reason to buy into Game Pass over other places. So try buying EA and try getting a deal with 2K. EA could help take them off Battlefield and bring them into save Perfect Dark the DICE team has experience with first person shoot parkour games like Mirrors Edge.

    • Would love to see that happen just so we could get something like another’s Mirrors Edge also finally get Dead Space 2 remake since Motive would be free too from BF.

  • Honestly I’m confused . I get that the game will come out on gamepass Xbox. But what about the ps5 tho? Like can I just buy the game on ps5 like any other video games?. Honestly not digging the vibe on playing on xbox gamepass.
