Battlefield Studios is preparing to release the fourth season in Battlefield 6, the first-person shooter that took the world by storm last October. It has been a rocky road for the game, but the hope is that season four can revitalize things with another revamped fan-favorite map and the bold return of naval warfare.
In a post on the EA blog weeks ago, the future of season four was outlined, but the release date remains up in the air. However, some dataminers and eagle-eyed users have zeroed in on a release date for Battlefield 6’s season four update.

Battlefield 6 is Getting Naval Combat, Finally
In a blog post dated June 4, Battlefield Studios shared information about the full length and breadth of the season four update, which is centered around naval warfare. To accommodate that, players will be able to access what might be the largest open map ever made, Tsuru Reef, and a reimagination of one of the series’ oldest maps, Wake Island.
Here’s what Battlefield Studios said about each map, starting with Tsuru Reef:
Set across a wide oceanfront combat space, the map brings together island terrain, beach assaults, open water, and areas designed for infantry pressure. Players can expect a mix of vehicle combat and on-foot engagements, with room for boats, aircraft, armor, and squads pushing across key points of control.
And Wake Island:
As one of Battlefield’s most recognizable locations, Wake Island carries a long history for the franchise. For its return, the team is updating the map for the scale, systems, and modern setting of Battlefield 6 while preserving the identity that has made it a fan-favorite across the series.
Additionally, season four will introduce custom lobbies, a spectator mode, plus new weapons, modes, and ways to experience Battlefield 6, which is managing to retain players fairly well, despite mixed impressions.
Also, proximity chat is coming, and in season five, we’ll be getting more maps, plus the fabled server browser and ‘Platoons’, which is Battlefield’s version of a clan or guild system.
When is Battlefield 6 Season 4 Coming Out?
Electronic Arts hasn’t confirmed when season four will hit the Battlefield 6 ecosystem, but all signs (including datamining efforts and insider suggestions) point to July 21st as the release date.
Battlefield Studios has long indicated that July is the launch window for season four, but the specific day was never made clear.
