Assassin’s Creed Red To Be ‘Blockbuster’ 2024 Release, It’s Claimed

It was around two weeks ago that we published a report highlighting the eleven Assassin’s Creed games lined up by Ubisoft’s various studios. In that report, we highlighted how our sources suggested that Assassin’s Creed Red will be released in 2024. Now, a post published on LinkedIn by a Ubisoft employee seems to support that claim even further.

On LinkedIn, a ‘Business Development & Brand Partnership’ employee at Ubisoft wrote a post searching for partners that would join forces with the ‘biggest blockbuster of 2024’. Since that post was published, it has been subtly edited to remove any trace of the reference to ‘2024’.

Back to Annual?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the most recent Assassin’s Creed game, and that launched back in 2020. In October, we’re set to receive Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but it’s a much smaller-form title with a downsized map and less ambition overall – though it is said to be a return to form for the franchise.

It has been the longest gap in history between Assassin’s Creed games, which was typically an annual franchise before an operational shift occurred. However, as per our report, there are eleven Assassin’s Creed games in development, so it stands to reason that we may start seeing them released with less time between them.

There are remarkably high expectations for Assassin’s Creed Red, as it’s set in an era and a location that fans have been crying out for for years. That’s a theme that was represented in the original LinkedIn post:

Assassin’s Creed will finally be set in Japan as a playground! Japan was the most requested history/culture from AC fans.

Are you excited to explore Japan as a member of the Assassin Brotherhood?

  • I’m not excited if they’re going to undercut the historical significance of the actual only black samurai, Yasuke, by creating some earlier fake female version.
