Most of us have a favorite AC game, but certain releases stand out. The fourth mainline game was a big departure from previous titles but was a huge success. Let’s find out the latest details on the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is reportedly the best-selling game in the series. It’s an impressive feat given the series’ near-twenty-year history and countless releases. Assassin’s Creed 4 took a huge gamble by shifting away from AC 3’s half-pirate world and going full Long John Silver on us all.
The gamble paid off as Black Flag was well-received by fans and critics, made a ton of money, and is one of the defining moments of the franchise. So when talk of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake popped up like a pirate, the world was instantly talking.
Do we Know When The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is Coming Out?

According to reports, an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake could be released in November 2025.
In our exclusive Insider Gaming report, we said not only is a remake coming, but it could be a lot sooner than you think. We believe Ubisoft‘s Black Flag Remake is: “Well into development and could be released much sooner than we all thought. The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake (codenamed Obsidian) was to be released around November 2025.”
There are two major things to take from this: You can likely prepare yourself for the remake as we’ve seen remake gameplay footage. Unfortunately, the Assassin’s Creed Shadows delays have potentially moved the release period’s goalposts.
Has The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Been Delayed?
It’s our understanding delays to Assassin’s Creed Shadows might have had a direct impact on the remake—consequently affecting the release period.
Continuing with our report and findings: “The recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows delay, which Marc-Alexis Côté [vice president and executive producer for Assassin’s Creed at Ubisoft] said to said staff in an internal email “Will also impact the rest of the Assassin’s Creed roadmap,” may have skewed these dates a little.
Using logic and common sense, we could possibly see the remake announced in 2025. However, this window could be pushed to 2026 to ensure Shadows gets the attention it needs.
Stay tuned for further updates on the remake.
