All Ranks in Rainbow Six Siege
There are 8 ranks in Rainbow Six Siege, and all but one are split up into several divisions. As you climb the ladder in Rainbow Six Siege’s Ranked mode, you’ll naturally progress through many of these (but perhaps not all of them):
- Copper: V – I
- Bronze: V – I
- Silver: V – I
- Gold: V – I
- Platinum: V – I
- Emerald: V – I
- Diamond: V – I
- Champions

How to Rank Up in Rainbow Six Siege
In 2022, Ubisoft released Ranked 2.0, tweaking the original model and algorithm and altering how MMR and skill ratings worked. By June 2025, Ranked 3.0 still hasn’t been released, but it’s coming!
How does Ranked work in Rainbow Six Siege following the release of Ranked 2.0?
Ubisoft did away with MMR and instead presented Skill and Rank ratings. The Skill rating is a hidden value used for matchmaking, while Rank is the visible, public-facing value you’re assigned as you climb the ladder.
Here’s the breakdown from Ubisoft’s blog page on the matter:
Your skill represents your ability to win a game. Comparing two teams’ skill gives you the probability that one team will win against the other. The higher the difference, the more likely a given team is going to win. When two teams with the same skill levels are matched up with each other, they both have an equal shot at winning. The algorithm used in Rainbow Six Siege assigns two values to each player: an estimation of their skill (μ) and the uncertainty of this estimation (σ).
Skill persists through seasons, so even a competitive reset won’t alter the fact that the game knows you’re a talented competitor.
This update introduced the following changes:
- No more placement matches
- No Skill resets
- More steady progression and a better score scale
- More stability between Ranks
You rank up in Rainbow Six Siege simply by winning enough RP from playing matches to go up to the next division. Once you’ve done that enough, you’ll climb into the next Rank.
